Climate in Budapest

Budapest is situated on the banks of the Danube, which gives to the city a fairly high moisture level. The winters are very cold in Budapest. In January and February the average temperature is below 0 º C, with a maximum of between 2 and 5 º C. The winter precipitation is also higher than in the rest of the year except the summer and snow is common.

Summers in Budapest can be quite hot. The average temperature in July and August is 16 º C, but you can get to see a maximum of over 30 º C, which along with levels of moisture produces a sense of being overwhelmed. Months are more likely to rain.
